+ VOICE LESSONS
Want to learn how to sing properly? Want to improve the way you sound and perform? Want to feel more comfortable singing in front of a crowd? Michael Detmer and Zachary Parker are excited to be offering private voice lessons for children and adults (ages 11+) at The Little Theatre On The Square! Classes start at 30 minutes and 60 minutes classes are available for older or serious students. This is a great opportunity for one-on-one coaching and vocal education right here on the Square.
Location: The Little Theatre On The Square’s upstairs Lobby
Class Times: Contact Heather at 217-728-2065 to set up your first class and then you can schedule your classes with your instructor to fit your schedule.
Class Fees: $20 / Half Hour Session and $40 / Full Hour Session (pay per class)
What to expect in a voice lesson: You’ll start working mainly on developing a basic foundation for singing. This includes, a speech-like, open-throated, and well-supported approach.
The structure of each individual lesson will begin with a few exercises to get the blood flowing, and to coordinate the musculature and the mind, so they begin working together to form the best possible sound. Once we've moved into a healthy and efficient singing position, we'll proceed to the second half of the lesson using selected repertoire to teach technique. The goal of each lesson is to work toward a healthy, durable, and versatile instrument.
